Peters Township Fire Department is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to operate 3 Advanced Life Support Vehicles. The vehicles respond to life threatening priority medical calls, as well as, medical calls where a mutual aid ambulance is responding from out of town.
In order to prepare the department and crews to handle calls involving children, in 2017, the department was certified as an “Expert” level for Pediatric Preparedness by the State of Pennsylvania. The certification involves extra pediatric training for medical personnel annually, an increased amount of pediatric medical equipment, and other community education put on by the department, such as car seat installations.
The “Expert” level is the highest of the four levels of certification set by the state. Out of 181 recognized agencies, Peters Township Fire Department is 1 of 47 expert agencies in the state.
